We all perform better when we are happy, healthy and motivated.  Encouraging your members and volunteers to embrace healthy lifestyle choices benefits our community in numerous ways.

Our desire to improve overall community health is based on the following principles:

  • Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well being. Social, environmental and economic factors are important determinants of human health and are inter-related. A community filled with healthy and happy individuals is a prosperous community.
  • People cannot achieve their fullest potential unless they are able to take control of those things, which determine their well being. A healthy community is strong and able to make positive change for the benefit of all.
  • All sectors of the community are inter-related and share their knowledge, expertise and perspectives. By working together we can create a healthy community, one that is safe for us and our children.

We are in a healthcare crisis in this country.  Obesity is on the rise, people are living with chronic pain, and incidence of cancer, diabetes and mental illness are all increasing.   It’s true that great strides are being made in medical research and new medicines are being developed each day.  Yet the one thing that is commonly overlooked is the benefit of promoting prevention, overall health and wellness.

The Chiropractic Outreach Program can help achieve these important goals.

Every cell, tissue, organ and system of the body is controlled and regulated by the nervous system.  A properly functioning nervous system allows for a properly functioning body.

A close relationship exists between the nervous system and the spine.   The nervous system can be negatively affected if proper spinal alignment is altered even slightly between one spinal bone (or vertebra) and another.

There are many factors that can cause spinal misalignment.  Trauma from an accident, improper lifting, falls, jolts, or strains are common causes.  Sustained postures, repeated motions, and emotional stress, all common to the workplace can gradually wear down parts of the spine and lead to misalignment.  The result of this misalignment of spinal bones is a nervous system that is not able to work at its optimum level.

Chiropractic’s role in this process is to ensure that your brain is able to send the correct messages via the nervous system to the entire body.  When your nervous system is working well, without interference, overall wellness improves.

Five years ago I began noticing an increase in the frequency of my headaches as well as soreness and tenderness in my back and neck muscles.  I attributed it in part to the mental and physical stress that comes with raising a daughter with significant developmental disabilities.  I’ve tried three different massage therapists in town with no luck.  The massages were actually painful rather that relaxing due to the tenderness and knots in my muscles.

Two years ago I visited Dr. Jason’s booth at the Business Expo and had a complementary scan of my back and neck.  It showed I had lots of problem areas.  During that visit I signed up for a series of adjustments and began my road to recovery.  Up to that point, I did not consider chiropractic care as an option because I was not having traditional back pain.  I did not realize the benefits that chiropractic care would give to my situation.

Early visits with Dr. Jason were also painful, just like the massage visits.  My muscles were very tight and tender.  I can confidently say that the adjustment plan has worked very well. Approximately 80% of the tenderness has gone away and my headaches are very few and far between.  I don’t experience tenderness and pain in my muscles during Chiropractic adjustments any more and I can finally get a   massage that is relaxing!

It is also worth mentioning that Dr. Jason’s staff make the visits fun too.  They are welcoming and caring during each visit.  I have learned about chiropractic care and whole body health and wellness because of the dedication of Dr. Jason and his staff.

I came to Dr. Jason and his staff back in January of 2008.  A couple of friends and I had decided to lose weight with the City Health Program.  I attended the weight-in session then headed around the Community Center to see all the different vendors and what they had to offer.  Dr. Jason did a scan on me at the event and then offered a full screening at a reduced rate at Dr. Jason’s clinic.  I’d had chiropractic care many years before and thoroughly enjoyed the   benefits I received.  I was ready to start again!

I suffered from daily “headaches” and they in turn could blow up into migraines.  I also felt tired and just blah most of the time.  I am overweight, but just couldn’t seem to get the “oomph” I needed to get motivated to make a change.  I also had aches and pains like most adults from time to time.

I knew that I needed to be more in tune with my body and how the spine can affect my mental and physical health and overall wellbeing.  Dr. Jason and his friendly staff have motivated me to feel better about myself with daily affirmations, exercise and lower stress levels.  I find myself enjoying more peace of mind and trying to “live for the moment.”  I feel that I have taken better care of my health by taking care of my spin with regular adjustments, listening to Dr. Jay’s advice, reading articles, eating right (or at least better) and taking natural supplements. I am able to feel better about myself because I am not reliant on medications and pain relievers.  I am in control!!

Thank you Dr. Jason and staff for making me feel welcome with any questions I may have.  It is always a joy to come in and get my adjustments.
