One of the many benefits of Chiropractic care is it can provide excellent help toward fighitng against and warding off the flu. Spinal adjustments provided by chiropractors have an excellent track record in increasing the immune function of the body and helping it to stay healthy - especially during cold and flu season!
The reason for this success is because Chiropractic works to increase the function of the immune system. It does so by correcting spinal misalignments, known as subluxations. These subluxations are known to cause interference with the proper function of the nervous system by placing pressure or stress upon the nerves themselves. As the nervous system controls all bodily functions, including those of the immune system, chiropractic adjustments go a long way toward contributing to overall health and wellness.
The interaction between the nervous and immune systems has been shown to be positively affected by chiropractic adjustment. “Through research, we know that Chiropractic has beneficial effects on immunogobluins (a natural occurring antibody), B-lymphocytes (white blood cells), pulmonary (lungs) function and other immune system processes,” said Dr. Matthew McCoy, who serves as the editor of the Journal of Vertebral Subluxation Research.
One such study tested the response of white blood cells as important infection fighters. When a Chiropractic adjustment was applied to the middle of the back, it was found that white blood cells were present in significantly higher number than prior to the adjustment. These white blood cells are what find and destroy invading viruses and bacteria, including the flu virus!
Chiropractors are concerned with the total well-being of the individual and educate their patients toward positive health and lifestyle choices. Regular adjustments, getting ample rest, drinking adequate water, regular exercise, choosing a proper diet, and correctly using multivitamins and minerals are essential to staying resistant to colds and flu.

Healthcare costs are skyrocketing. Insurance premiums continue to rise year after year, while insurance coverage for the patient is decreasing. The healthcare system cannont be sustained at the rate we are going. It si true that healthcare reform is needed. This reform needs to be more than just cutting costs and limiting care in the current medical system. We can’t continue treating diseases and symptoms while ignoring the causes of these problems and expect any real reform to take place. In the words of Albert Einstein, “doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results” is the definition of insanity.
Health comes from inside. We need to do everything we can to ensure our bodies are working well from the inside out, not the other way around. Chiropractors recognize this and are poised to be the leaders of the reform that is truly needed. Statistics of patients who regularly utilze chiropractors as their primary care physicians show it reduces the need for:
Numbers tell a story and these numbers clearly show chiropractic can and should play a major role in refoming healthcare and controlling the astornomical costs in the current health care system. Getting adjusted regularly is a win-win.
See your chiropractor and you will benefit from better health and save money too!

I first went to a chiropractor around 30 years ago for a bad cold and had very good results. Some time after that I started going for tension in my upper back and neck. I went regularly, once a month and this helped with the tension and continued to help me with my winter colds. The chiropractor I was seeing then moved out of town and I was no longer going on a regular basis. I saw different chiropractors through the years but typically only when I had a lot of pain.
In May of this year I met with Dr. Jason and began the chiropractic care he recommended for me. I have had great results. I sleep much better, have less pain between my shoulders and my sinuses aren’t bothering me this fall as they have for the past several years.
Also, I love to sew but for quite awhile now I’ve only been able to sew for about an hour at a time. I am back to sewing 3 hours at a time since I’ve been seeing Dr. Jason.
I receive my adjustments once a week now, and keeping my appointments with Dr Jason and doing my exercises has helped me get my life back.

Flu season is here again. People are lining up at every corner to get their flu shots in hopes of staying healthy this season. Contrary to popular belief, the flu shot is not very effective at preventing the flu or flu related deaths. The real key to staying healthy at this time of year (and always) is having a STRONG IMMUNE SYSTEM. This is our primary defense against the flu and any other invader that tries to take over our body. It prevents illness and helps you recover should you become ill. You might ask “What can I do to ensure my immune system is in great shape to keep me healthy?”
HERE ARE SOME TIPS FOR BOOSTING YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM:
Health comes from inside. Following these tips will have your body in great shape to stay healthy this winter.
Spring is here at last! For those of us living in the upper Midwest it is an exciting time of year. Sub-zero weather is in the rearview mirror and we can look forward to sunshine, budding trees and blooming flowers. For millions of Americans it is also a time for their dreaded allergies to come back to life. Itchy watery eyes, dripping noses, tickly throats and sneezes are here. For this reason many people dread spring rather than look forward to enjoying the beautiful outdoors. Allergies do not necessarily have to be a life sentence. There is hope.
Allergy sufferers have praised chiropractic for over a century. Many have experienced dramatic improvement or elimination of their dreaded allergy symptoms as a result of chiropractic care. Chiropractic care is not a treatment for allergies however. The goal of chiropractic care is to locate and correct a serious type of spine and nervous system stress call the vertebral subluxation complex. By releasing stress on the nervous system, chiropractic permits the immune system to function more effectively: something all allergy sufferers need since a nervous system with less stress functions more efficiently.
One review of patients at a chiropractic college clinic found that pediatric patients commonly had complaints of allergy, ear infection, sinus problems, bed-wetting, respiratory problems and gastrointestinal problems. Complete or substantial improvement occurred in 61.6%.[i]
For over a hundred years chiropractors have, by reducing nervous system stress caused by vertebral subluxations, helped people adapt better to all the stresses in their environment, including those relating to allergies.
Let chiropractic help you build better health from the inside!

Every cell, tissue, organ and system of the body is controlled and regulated by the nervous system. A properly functioning nervous system allows for a properly functioning body.
A close relationship exists between the nervous system and the spine. The nervous system can be negatively affected if proper spinal alignment is altered even slightly between one spinal bone (or vertebra) and another.
There are many factors that can cause spinal misalignment. Trauma from an accident, improper lifting, falls, jolts, or strains are common causes. Sustained postures, repeated motions, and emotional stress, all common to the workplace can gradually wear down parts of the spine and lead to misalignment. The result of this misalignment of spinal bones is a nervous system that is not able to work at its optimum level.
Chiropractic’s role in this process is to ensure that your brain is able to send the correct messages via the nervous system to the entire body. When your nervous system is working well, without interference, overall wellness improves.
Five years ago I began noticing an increase in the frequency of my headaches as well as soreness and tenderness in my back and neck muscles. I attributed it in part to the mental and physical stress that comes with raising a daughter with significant developmental disabilities. I’ve tried three different massage therapists in town with no luck. The massages were actually painful rather that relaxing due to the tenderness and knots in my muscles.
Two years ago I visited Dr. Jason’s booth at the Business Expo and had a complementary scan of my back and neck. It showed I had lots of problem areas. During that visit I signed up for a series of adjustments and began my road to recovery. Up to that point, I did not consider chiropractic care as an option because I was not having traditional back pain. I did not realize the benefits that chiropractic care would give to my situation.
Early visits with Dr. Jason were also painful, just like the massage visits. My muscles were very tight and tender. I can confidently say that the adjustment plan has worked very well. Approximately 80% of the tenderness has gone away and my headaches are very few and far between. I don’t experience tenderness and pain in my muscles during Chiropractic adjustments any more and I can finally get a massage that is relaxing!
It is also worth mentioning that Dr. Jason’s staff make the visits fun too. They are welcoming and caring during each visit. I have learned about chiropractic care and whole body health and wellness because of the dedication of Dr. Jason and his staff.

I came to Dr. Jason and his staff back in January of 2008. A couple of friends and I had decided to lose weight with the City Health Program. I attended the weight-in session then headed around the Community Center to see all the different vendors and what they had to offer. Dr. Jason did a scan on me at the event and then offered a full screening at a reduced rate at Dr. Jason’s clinic. I’d had chiropractic care many years before and thoroughly enjoyed the benefits I received. I was ready to start again!
I suffered from daily “headaches” and they in turn could blow up into migraines. I also felt tired and just blah most of the time. I am overweight, but just couldn’t seem to get the “oomph” I needed to get motivated to make a change. I also had aches and pains like most adults from time to time.
I knew that I needed to be more in tune with my body and how the spine can affect my mental and physical health and overall wellbeing. Dr. Jason and his friendly staff have motivated me to feel better about myself with daily affirmations, exercise and lower stress levels. I find myself enjoying more peace of mind and trying to “live for the moment.” I feel that I have taken better care of my health by taking care of my spin with regular adjustments, listening to Dr. Jay’s advice, reading articles, eating right (or at least better) and taking natural supplements. I am able to feel better about myself because I am not reliant on medications and pain relievers. I am in control!!
Thank you Dr. Jason and staff for making me feel welcome with any questions I may have. It is always a joy to come in and get my adjustments.

I came to Dr. Jason because I like the idea of “Family Chiropractic.” I came with the intention of learning about chiropractic so I could share the information to my husband and children.
I am a firm believer of chiropractic care and let me tell you why . . .
Before coming to Dr. Jason I had severe pain in my left hip and leg. After just a couple of adjustments my pain was beginning to subside. Now after a regular schedule of adjustments I have no pain at all. I used to suffer from migraines pretty regularly until being introduced to chiropractic care. Also, I would suffer from allergies and chronic sinus problems that would cause me to be very ill every October ~ not any more!
I spend many hours sitting in bleachers watching my son play football, basketball and baseball. All that sitting tends to affect my lower back and Dr. Jason has relieved all that stress. He has shown me several exercises to do to alleviate the stress on my back and leg.
I have found that I have to be active in my own health plan. Chiropractic care has helped me to do that. I have learned from Dr. Jason just how important the health of your spine is. How it affects all aspects of your well being. Medicine/drugs are not the way I want to deal with my own health. I want to be healthy by using natural means, eating well, taking supplements and regular chiropractic care. That is what I am doing now. I’m finding more ways to lower the stress level from work and life in general, peace of mind. I am slowing my live down so I can enjoy every minute!
Dr. Jason and staff are a big part of this happening for me!
