Hello, my name is Mary Schultz Anderson.  I am a patient of Dr.  Jason’s and he asked me to give a testimony as Patient of the Month to share with you how chiropractic care has helped me.

A career in nursing, together with an auto accident, had caused injury to my neck and spine.  This condition worsened through the years due to neglect.  My pain and discomfort increased with migraine headaches and high blood pressure, which I was prescribed medications for.

At my initial visit with Dr. Jason it was decided to start me on chiropractic care at three times a week for 8-12 weeks.  I’m nine weeks into care and I am experiencing relief from my chronic neck and back pain.  My blood pressure has returned to normal and my migraine pain is alleviated.  Also, I am experiencing more energy and feel more confident physically and emotionally to handle every day stresses.

I am grateful to Dr. Jason and Heidi for their patience and care.

 Thank You!

The first experience with Dr. Jason was for my then three year-old son Isaiah.  As a toddler he had multiple ear and sinus infections that eventually lead to having tubes put in his ears.  He was beginning to start that cycle once again with one sinus infection after another when my family suggested that I take him to see Dr. Jason.

I didn’t know how Isaiah was going to react to “getting the popcorn out of his back.”  He loved it! After a few adjustments I noticed a huge difference in his health.  He has a lot more energy and most of all…no more sinus infections!

After seeing the positive results that Isaiah was having, I decided it was time to address my upper back and neck pain.  I had started an office job the year before and my body was not used to sitting for several hours in front of a computer.  Carrying an increasingly growing child around probably didn’t help either.

After finding out I had 4 subluxations in my upper and lower back, I realized I needed to start on my own path to healthier lifestyle.  He taught me exercises to strengthen and stretch my neck and back muscles, making is much easier to be adjusted and to stay pain free.  Not only my posture but my overall health has greatly improved and I no longer need to take ibuprofen on a regular basis.

Now that it has been a year, we see Dr. Jason on a wellness schedule and Isaiah definitely reminds me when he needs to get the popcorn out, and is excited every time we go!

We all perform better when we are happy, healthy and motivated.  Encouraging your members and volunteers to embrace healthy lifestyle choices benefits our community in numerous ways.

Our desire to improve overall community health is based on the following principles:

  • Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well being. Social, environmental and economic factors are important determinants of human health and are inter-related. A community filled with healthy and happy individuals is a prosperous community.
  • People cannot achieve their fullest potential unless they are able to take control of those things, which determine their well being. A healthy community is strong and able to make positive change for the benefit of all.
  • All sectors of the community are inter-related and share their knowledge, expertise and perspectives. By working together we can create a healthy community, one that is safe for us and our children.

We are in a healthcare crisis in this country.  Obesity is on the rise, people are living with chronic pain, and incidence of cancer, diabetes and mental illness are all increasing.   It’s true that great strides are being made in medical research and new medicines are being developed each day.  Yet the one thing that is commonly overlooked is the benefit of promoting prevention, overall health and wellness.

The Chiropractic Outreach Program can help achieve these important goals.
